Well it is a record low tonight/day. Registering as a record-breaking -14F! Yes, my friends, that is COLD ~ colder than a witches tit! And some of you know firsthand just how cold THAT is! And you know, that is downright inspirational! SOO, since book fair is now over ( I am NOT going back into that school for at least a whole DAY!) ~ I believe I shall wax philisophical in my most favoritest mode du jour ~ POETRY! yeah!! I knew it, I knew it, I hear the applause even now... yep, yep.. oh,, wait, hoollldd it... yes, yes, why yes, I DOO, there it is, there it izzzzzz, me amigos!
A Fine Day in Hell Indeed
Have you ever been to Idaho?
To the frozen reaches of sage?
To haory frosts of wizened ice ~
A witches tit enraged.
All night long the fire burns
I stack the logs in vain
there looks to be a draft somewhere
the heat all seems to drain.
ahh icy cold & wintry sky
so darkly grey of cloud~
with deathly fingers brush my neck
and make me shiver loud.
I cover up, I dodge, I hide,
and yet it seeks me still ~
the frigid wafting through my bones ~
that arctic numbing chill.
Some Kama Sutra perhaps will help
to liven up my skin,
a little pink add to my cheeks ~
a burning from within.
But nay, I say, how cold it is ~
'tis colder more than that ~
a little action may warm up
but begs you not lie flat.
Those glacial winds now own my feet,
& chair and even floor,
My slippers are not near enough
to fend the gusts off more.
O Woe, and rue the day
when I in joy proclaimed~
"I love the seasons ALL, you see,
for which Idaho is famed!"
This little tale, what doth it tell?
I say, 'tis nothing truly new~
merely merely does it state
~my lips are turning blue~
And thus we see, no matter what,
or where, or when, or why,
when one proclaims aloud the pain
of cold & wintry sky
The consequence of telling it
aloud to all who hear,
is frost-bit nose and blueing lips,
and icicle-ee ear.
Haiku to my fire
Burning brightly now
Bright red flames reaching upward
I begin to thaw.
